There's no governor, you just run outta power. The gear ratios are robbing the power. Trust me, I live in Germany right now and have had plenty of experience with high speed runs! I keep the O/D off if I'm under 65 mph or if I wanna haul ass above 100 mph.

yes, there is no governor on the 2gnt's or gsx's. the only eclipse that came with a governor is the gst and that was because it came with H rated (130mph) tires. i guess they never figured us 2gnt guys would get up that fast...they thought wron anyways, like ^^ said your car is not making enough power to overcome the wind resistance so therefore you need more power to overcome this. most stock auto's top out at around 120ish...because they can no longer overcome resistance. us 5 speed have been known to run up to 135 bone stock (i did). just throw some mods on there and youll overcome the natural (governor). our cars will tach out...thats the only limiter we have on the car.....that and the lack of power.
edit: but yea, keep your O/D off...it will kill your cars acceleration if you dont.

its not scary in my car. when i take long trips i try to keep it over 110mph as much as possible. i have hit 149mph or so on my speedo, not sure what that would be really since i have 225/55/16's on(had 185/65/14's originaly) but it should be with 5 or 6 mph of that. just don't go that fast on busy interstate. beside the fact i live in NM where there isn't much traffic, i usually drive in the middle of the night when there isnt anyone out. i almost forgot, don't go that fast on shitty tires either.
