Ever since i blocked my egr off, ive had a crazy tick coming from the drivers side of the motor. The tick only occurs under light to medium acceleration. At WOT the tick goes away. Im just wondering if i may have an air leak, or just what could it be? It doesnt tick while idling or reving, only under acceleration. Thanks for any help

Exhaust gas is usually visible on gasket/plate surfaces - it shows up as black soot. Remove the plates and take a look at them. Is the black soot is breaking out of the sealed area? That's what an exhaust leak would look like.

im going to check this out tonight. i was also wondering if the tick could be coming from the tranny. i talked to a tech today and he said it could be the throwout bearing, but i figured that would act up when the clutch was pushed, or as soon as the car was started. anyone else have any input on this??

Definitely check for a loose connection, especially in front of the EGR valve. That thing (brain fart right now) tends to come loose sometimes, and it would give off a pretty audible ticking sound. I have the HRC turbo kit and the air intake pipe would hit the EGR sensor/sending unit (can't think of the name) when the engine torques, knocking it loose. Plus, the extreme exhaust manifold heat really softens the rubber hose connection on it.
