Hi guys/gals. I friend of mine at work has a GST.. and yesterday on his way to work he smelt oil burning. when he got here he opened the hode and notice in the front right corner of the valve cover a perfectly drilled hole about 1/16 in diameter. Does anyone know what this hole's function might be being as it never leaked before? I know are engines are different, but maybe one of you guys might know someone with a GST... Please let me know if you can.. Thank you!

Was the hole there before it started leaking. Maybe something inside the head broke loose and was thrown through the valve cover. I have seen pushrods come through valve covers of small block chevy's before, but that should not happen on an OHC engine.

Well first of all...if its in the front right corner of the valve cover...somethings wrong!!! There is NO hole suppose to be there!! The only hole thats there is the bolt to keep it on. Maybe that's missing, but I'm sure you both are smarter then that:P Maybe someone opened his hood and took a drill with a 1/16 drill bit and well probably not.
I'd get that fixed...really fast!!!!!

That hole has been mentioned on the turbo lists, and it is supposed to be there. I can't for the life of me remember what it is for though. Maybe because it is 4:35AM and I haven't been to bed yet. -=B-=
