#49574, "SAFC + MAP Sensor"

Is there any way that having an SAFC could mess up your MAP sensor? Its not even tuned, its just set at 0% across the board for both low and high throttle. Ever since the day I installed it, ive gotten a check engine light that stays on forever. (forgot what code but its "Manifold Absolute Pressure Sensor Per Range") Could the SAFC wiring messed up the voltage enough to freak out the ECU? Has anyone else experienced this? Would the missing link help in this situation? Thanks.

go to the general discussion, you will see a current thread about the SAFC, and the CEL prob.

http://forums.2gnt.com/dcboard.php?az=show_topic&forum=4&topic_id=42262
also if that dont help, im positive if you do a search on SAFC you will get numerous hits on the CEL topic. the code ur referring to is p106, which dont quote me on but what everyone who got a CEL with a AFC is getting.

thats what the safc does is mess with the map sensor output. what are your settings for pressure in/out example 5/5 or 7 in 7 out

I had mine installed and NEVER got the map CEL. its all in the wiring/values you enter into the safc

you should have it set to 4 cyl, pressure, arrow up, 5/5 or 7/7 or even 6/6 try a couple and see if the CEL goes away.

and did you follow the steps for grounding the black and brown wires correctly

Yes I think the ground wires pose the biggest problem. I have redone mine and need to get a datalogger to check and see if it removed my CEL, my ground was a touch farther than 1cm apart like instructed. I fixed it and we'll see if it's gone.

On a side note does anyone have a good explanation of the in/out settings? As far as what they mean, translate or effect anything. I've never come across one.

I dont remember how far away I put the ground wires from each other. I just followed the instructions on here and put whichever one had to go closer to the ECU closer and the one that had to go farther, farther.

My settings are 7 in 7 out, 4cyl, throttle up.
