#49415, "3 Times soon to be 4 HELP!!"

I have taken this damn 420a apart 3 times and cant figure it out. Here's the story: My friend has a prelude with a H22 fully built. He wanted to race me after my rebuild. I had the 500 necessary miles. I won the first race. Lost the second race and had alot of hesitation. I thought I heard valves tapping but everyone said it was either piston slap or rod knock. I took off the oil pan and spun the crank and I could hear a strange squishy sound like air was leaking from a piston. I took of the head and popped out #2 it was fine, popped out
#3 lower compression ring was snapped in two. I replaced and put it back, all of it. Started up and still heard the same noise. I took it all back apart and saw nothing unusual.I moved piston #1 while it was connected to the crank it wiggled. When I took out the rod bering it was almost flat lukily I bought 4 extra sets. I replaced it and put it all back together. It stillmakes the same damn noise and hesitates bad. Does anyone know what this could be before I pull it apart again? Could #1 ring be cracked as well? All the rebuild parts I used were from the dealer ship! (I have a friend that works there so all my stuff is 10% over costlike my $5 rod bearings) Anyone have any suggestions?

hmm... sounds like u've got all kinda probs... but if the rod bearing was wore, check the crankshaft. it may be out of round.. if so, u'll just keep going thru rod bearings. I'd pull everything out of the bottom end and take a good look at it. machine the crank if it's scored at all and get some undersize bearings and put it all back together again.

Anyone know anyone who can help me tune this in the Pittsburgh area (Greensburg)?
