I used to, until I found out it was completely worthless. it's better to drive the car after 30seconds, that way all the driveline parts warm up together.

warming up your car is not "worthless", there was just a post on here earlier (about 2 weeks ago) about how the hardest part on the engine is the start because of corrosive gasoline that is not burned off/removed by warm oil...so you should let it sit for a min or so in my opinion..

i usually wait until it's fully warmed up, needle in the middle. but i also have 159k miles on my car and it sounds horrible when i start it. I have really bad piston slap so i wait until that starts to go away, i wait to let the pistons expand so they aren't hitting so hard.

My car doesn't move until the coolant needle moves from the bottom line. And it doesn't go over 3K RPM until it's full operating temp. That's why I got a remote start emoji

if your warm up the car to operating temps it will last much longer... if u dont u put more stresss on the motor without the rings fully expanded

Bill
do what u like i hate rebuilding motors for no reason ill warm up my car every day./..

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

I usually just wait long enough to pick out a song...I know it's hard on the engine, and my engine and accessories are starting to make a lot of noise...hopefully a rebuilt and turbo in the future and I can go easy on her then...
