when you turn the key to on position when the pump is in good condition it will make a noise, but when the pump isnt making the noise it doesnt mean that you need a new fuel pump, check the relays first, check if the pump is receiving voltage etc. If the pump receive voltage and the pump dont make the noise when you turn the ignition switch to the on position problably you need a new fuel pump. if you have problem with you fuel pump you car wont start. hope this help. But remember check the relays etc. before you think that you need a new fuel pump. hope this help

just get the walbro rems ... only like $100 and you probably need high press fuel pump anyway unless u have one already. just installed the walbro today.
