Help. I just built a 2.0 turbo for a 95 eclipse. It is using a first generation turbo. The block had a no.3 bearing go out. I had the block and head professionally machined. The clutch was about 90% worn, but an impatient girlfriend wanted now not later. For 200 miles everything ran perfect. However, now when depressing the clutch, the engine stalls. There are no abnormal noises from the tranny or motor. When clutch is not depressed, the motor runs great, no hesitation or noises. But as soon as you start to depress the clutch it wi1l backfire hesitate and stall. You can keep the rpms up above 3 grand and depress the clutch, but it runs like it's on two cylinders. You can even engage the gears and get it up to a certain speed and it smooths out. I have double checked my timing and it is perfect. Just out of curiosity, I have checked endplay from the thrust bearings and I cannot visibly see the crankshaft moving. To eliminate electrical at the pedal I disconnected the clutch pedal cable from the pedal and caused the motor to stall when I barely moved the cable. I have asked a lot of people and I myself have never heard of a motor stalling when depressing the clutch pedal. Someone help. Also before this problem arose I noticed while driving that when clutch depressed I couldn't shift gears, like air in system or leaking slave cylinder. And then all of a sudden It worked fine. I am not asking anyone think hard about this, only if someone has heard of it or experienced this.

Is this a GS, GST, GSX? there's two different motors in the 2G. The stock turbo motors use a 4g63, and the stock non-turbos use a Chrysler built 420A. If this car started life as a non-turbo car, then we can probably help you - if not, you'll likely get better results from www.dsmtalk.com.
Does the car have a check engine light on? if so, with the 95's you can manually check the code by turning the key on-off-on-off-on and counting the blinks. The codes are different for 4g63 and 420A, but the 420A codes are here: http://www.2gnt.com/nuke/modules.php?name=Sections&op=viewarticle&artid=8
