#48773, "What does our exhaust mani. gasket look like?"

I got mine in the mail today, and its a metal composite stuff. The one on my car, stock I am assuming, is a metal multi-layer gasket. The package it came in says Mopar genuine parts, and a Mitsu sticker over it so might I have gotten a gasket for a neon?

No big deal either way, I was just curious. Its part number MO4667722.

Almost all 420A specific parts you buy from Mitsu are like that - Mopar bag, Mitsu sticker over it. Doesn't matter if it "is for a Neon" or not - its the same gasket.

Yeah, I wasn't questioning whether it will work or not, I can see the bolt pattern and know it works. My question is why did I get a different type of gasket? Is this the gasket that everyone gets now?

I like the multi-layer one better emoji

You got the one for the Neon. IMO, that gasket is pretty crappy. Get the MLS exaust gasket, its much better quality. I know thats the Neon gasket, becuase when i got my upper end gasket kit from the dealer, i got the neon one at firt. It had some different gaskets from what i had gotten before. So i tell the dude to look it up again, and turns out sure enough it was the neon kit. Got the right kit, and this one comes with the MLS exaust gasket. For some reason, the eclipse/talon 420A's use that MLS gasket.. BTW, i asked for parts for a 95 talon, since i am building a 95 block (not that it really matters)

Yeah, unfortunetely I ordered it online from a Florida dealer, so it would cost me more to return it then it would to just keep it. I cleaned up the MLS and it still looked great, and when I put the header on there were no leaks. I'll keep the fiber one around just in case.

Score! Good job man. I did the same. Cleaned that bad boy up with some '409' and slapped it back on there. Mine hasnt leaked yet. Be sure to get ur torque specs(18 and 20, i think..) The gasket I got from a local parts place looked like poo. Its still laying on the toolbox. Only cost me $6 though. I think its a fel-pro.

Its not exactly a paper gasket, its some sort of metal. I don't see any reason to put both gaskets on though.
