Last night while driven home. I was getting off the freeway and noticed that my air/fuel guage stopped cycling at all. I reved it a little but still no change. If skipped out of being stuck then through a CEL. The CEL is 21 which has to do with the upstream o2. I had absolutly no idle problems or any problems. Things were fine the rest of the drive home. Then this morning everything was fine again untill I got on the freeway and it pegged my airfuel guage again. It was a steady orange. I am going to check on things today after work, just checking to see if this has happened to anyone? TIA
you probably have a bad ground on your o2 sensor, they usually dont just die, it will gradually die but never all at once. It could be a bad ground (maybe the wires are burnt and shorting on something.
here is the sensor test
Heated Oxygen Sensors(o2) Test resistance at the white wires on the sensor connector clip at room temperature. Resistance should read 5-7 ohms for ’95 and 4-7 ohms for ‘96+ year models
Just an update. I checked the o2 and I spliced the wires to connect my Air/Fuel gauge their so I figured that was the problem. Re-connected everything and now it runs great.. Thx! Mo points for you!
