I can run a hot wire to the car and it will start other wise I have no fire. Could this be a computer problem or wire fried. I hate to spend money on a ecu if it is just a wire.

what do you mean by "I can run a hot wire to the car" and it'll start... what exactly are you doing different to make it start?

Yeah, could you clear that up a bit. Are you running a jumper cable to the starter to make the engine start? I can't tell.

The car turns over but I am not getting any power to the coil. I can put 12 volts from the battery to the coil hot wire and it will start.

check your relay on the driver side firewall to see if its powering up, and if power is going to it, and out of it. Should be the ASD relay if i remember right. Check all of your fuses under the hood fuse box too. You can use a normal 12v test light on the relay harness plug wires to check for power. One wire will light up when you turn the key into the run position, one wire will have constant 12 volts, and a second wire will light up also when the key is turned on, this wire is the relay output when the relay turns on. Leave the relay plugged in, just stick the probe of the test light on the underside of the relay plug, to contact the plug wire pins. You can check the service manual wiring diagrams for wire colors and location of the relay(check out the link in Juggalo's signature)
