A little history first for the problem I am experiencing. About a week ago I started getting a slight mis-fire on my car. This "slight" mis-fire turned basically into total loss of power. I checked the plugs and as I pulled them out I noticed cylinder 2 and 4 had MASSIVE amounts of oil in the wells. So, I replaced the valve cover gasket, plug seals, plugs, and plug wires. Oil stopped entering the wells and I thought things were o.k. I started the car, running perfect, drove around the block 4 or 5 times started losing almost all power again. Checked plug wells, and plugs. Everything was o.k. No smoke out the tail pipe or under the hood. The power comes and goes, as soon as I start it all is well, drive for 5 minutes or so and it goes to crap, 5 minutes later power is back, etc, etc, etc.. I have now been through a whole tank of gas and have new gas, so I don't think its the fuel. Fuel filter is 5 months old, just had 60k tuneup including new head gasket. What could my problem be?? I took it to a SO CALLED mechanic and paid them to check the CEL(since my PocketLogger doesn't work for some reason). All they could tell me was "You have a misfire". No shit emoji , thanks for the help. So, now I have NO IDEA what could be causing this. Please, someone try to help me with this. Thanks (sorry so long)

shot in the dark here but you might wanna check your pressure regulator and/or the maf, does is stutter or buck at all or is it just power loss

Have you tried just replacing plugs and wires....who knows...maybe just a short somewhere. I always like to start with the cheap stuff. I am willing to stop by and let you try my plug wires if you don't want to spring for new ones.

worst case senerio you detonated and cracked a piston do to oil in the wells. it tends to make the car misfire and our pistons are so brittle that any sort of detonation and they are gone! of course that's the worst case senerio! could be a bad injector, just never really know, pull the plugs and see what color they are. also it could be the coil too, also check all you ignition wires! that includes the plug that plugs into the coil!

Well, it does buck and stutter, backfire, etc. I can't see it being too major of an issue because like I said the power is there perfect, then goes, comes back, goes. If it was something major wouldn't it be a steady issue? I have already replaced the plugs and they still look good. No excess burning of oil or anything else like that. Chad if you are free on Sunday or something let me know. I am pretty busy on Saturday. Shoot me an email and I can give you my home number. I guess I could try your plugs, even though mine are fairly new. It wouldn't hurt to give it a shot. It may be the coil, I guess, I don't really know. I did notice for you all that are familiar with the DIS-2, when I put the loop back plug (the plug that supposedly switches the ignition back to stock) the car won't start. It tries but it doesn't seem like it is getting any spark. Its like my MSD is covering up a issue with my ignition. Any of you have issues with the MSD going bad and causing issues? Are there any write ups on changing pressure regulator, or MAF? Thanks for the responses all, keep 'em coming emoji

Have you tried checking the resistance on the wires and coil yet?

Where do you plug the leads for a multimeter to check resistance on the coil?

Yup, it was the coil. I didn't think it could of been that since it ran fine for a while then stopped running good. Who knows? I replaced the coil with the MSD coil and it is running great (so far). Thanks for all the help and suggestions. You all rock!!!!
