at the risk of sounding like an ass.. I have a question. My timing belt just went out on me 2 days ago and I will find out pretty shortly if the entire motor needs to be reworked/trashed. I might fix it, I might get a new car, or I have another option I'd like to see if any of you could help me with.
I was told by someone a while ago that he put a Dodge Avenger engine into his car. He told me that he got over 200hp when he put it in.. so that gave me the impression he put a 2.5L in it instead of the 2.0.
Can you guys give me any insight if it's possible to fit the 6 cylinder in there? I really don't know the dynamics on engines and I'd appreciate any help. Opinions on what I should do are also welcomed.

yeah, i remember seeing a post a while back with a picture of a 420a next to a picture of the 6g73 (that's the v6 in the avenger, right?) i think tacoman posted it. maybe the transmission will agree with that engine, i don't know... it's certnly doable, but it would take forever and cost infinite cash to get it to work.

a much more ecomnomical swap would be the 2.4 it gives u 22% more displacement and it is very close to the same motor as the 2.0
search for 2.4 swap on the board u should come up witha alot of good info by me for the1bill
the 2.4 comes from a stratus, sebring, cirus, pt cruisar, or caravan...
the new SRT4 WILL NOT SWAP..
You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.
If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good. If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast. If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

The Sebring is a 2.0L.. same platform as the Avenger, and Eclipse/Talon.

If your going to do the 6g73 swap, I would move towards the large 3.0 or 3.5L (from the montero I believe) thats what alot of the v6 avenger guys are doing now
