#47423, "ideas on why steering is squeaking.."

Anyone got any ideas on why my (im assuming) PS belt squeaks when i turn my wheel? This only happens when i am shifting from R to D and move the wheel. Or when my car is in park and i turn the wheel. When i am actually moving and turn the wheel to make a turn..it doesnt squeak....or i cant hear it if it does. I checked PS fluid level...that is good. What else can it be?

And is the PS belt the one that goes thru like 3 of those pulleys?

the belt probably needs a little more tension. do a search and youll find out plenty of info on how to do that. it will take less than 10 minutes.

and yes, the p/s pump is the one right behind the passengers side headlight, up on top. the belt goes around it, the a/c compressor, a tensioner pully, and the crankshaft pully.

:shhh: i do cocaine :/shhh:

hit up my site, and check the udp install wrietup... it will teach you how to tighten any belt...

also, the belt is squeelin cuz the rpms arent high enough to negate the noise, or the engine/crank isnt spinnin fast enough to not squeel...

just tighten up the tensioner belt a lil, and u shud be fine...

check the deflection as welll (see writeup for definition) emoji

good luck
