Hey,
I'm about to rebuild my engine and wondering if it is a good idea to "knife edge" the stock crank? If not, what stronger cranks solutions are there and how much and where to get?

Our cranks are knife edged from the factory. Unless you plan on putting down more than ~450-500 crank hp, the stock crank will be fine.

Our stock crank shafts are very strong, and knife-edged to some degree from the factory. I would save the money for other modifications (pistons/connecting rods, cams, ect...)

No one has ever had problems with the crankshaft breaking. Not bad for a nodular iron crank.

so what exactly is 'knife edgeing' anyway? i never heard anyone actually describe what it does or changes.

knife-edging the crank not only lightens the crank itself, it also creates less friction going through the oil as it has less surface area. maybe friction isn't the right word. it basically moves through the oil easier
