I believe you'd do it the same way (use a 3 jaw puller), wouldn't you?

Is the motor "mobile"? If so bring it over to my house and I can take it off with the impact gun. Otherwise, you'll have to devise some way of keeping the flexplate from turning. Probably a 2 person job. Is this on Chris's motor?

I sat the engine on the flexplate, stood on the flexplate, and used the breaker bar from hell. You might could also stick a screwdriver through the flexplate that will jam when it hits the block.

Once you get the bolt out, you'll need a 3-jaw, 5-ton, 6-inch pulley puller that you can rent from autozone.

Impact tool should do it. At first, I couldn't keep it still. but with the impact tool, the bolt popped right out!!! make sure you use a lot of W40 or any grease/oil/lube stuff. i think it helps!

I just did mine two days ago... jammed a wrench thru the pulley against the block and just used a rachet w/ a pipe for more leverage to loosen it... no problem at all

Anyone know anyone who can help me tune this in the Pittsburgh area (Greensburg)?

I jammed a big screwdriver through there. It bent, but it was Craftsman, so I just took it back and got a new one emoji

But, if it's mobile, I suggest taking greg up on his offer. It'd be much easier.

I'll be doing a 420a engine swap tomorrow anyway, so I'll be home all day with at least 3 dsm's to play with. emoji

yeah the engine is mobile (it's n the back of my truck still), its not chris's, its my $132.50 special. i might have to take you up on the offer greg, but i'm not in a big hurry to rebuild it yet. i'll mess with more this weekend thanks for the suggestions.
