you should expect to pay A LOT in labor. Handy men that do most of their car maintaince theirselves would probably do it one weekend to save the $$, others would shell out over a grand to have someone else do it, but then again theres other people that shouldnt consider doing a headgasket cause they dont know jack, and would probably take 10x as long doing the job and end up better off paying someone to do it and just going into work some extra hours...

i just got my head gasket and head bolts changed. the drivers side corner head bolt is too long, and doesnt seal properly thats why its leaking. makes SURE the bolts are replaced and shaved.

cost me 1200$

The Mitsu dealers around me charge $399 for a head gasket change. I just had mine changed a couple weeks ago under my drivetrain warranty.

i've got to get my head gasket replaced too. i got a quote from mitsu dealer for around $550. And that's supposedly with a hook up since i know the service manager. I'm not looking forward to it, so for now i'm leaking oil. The bottom of my car looks like the exxon valdez.
