This happened to me about 4 months ago. I figured it was my speed sensor gear also. I took it to my buddys shop and they pulled the trans. It was eating itself alive! This is a known problem and whoever made the trans (dodge/mitsu) has come out with updated parts that will stop this from happening. Of course they are more expensive, but they wont break again. The total rebuild cost about 3800 with parts and labor. But hey, mabye its just your speed sensor! emoji If you need a new trans let me know, i have an extra rebuilt one on the way, but im not sure if its got the updated internals. Get that thing looked at right away!!! they may be able to save it! or mabye the clip came of your sensor gear, heh. good luck!

good lord! what exactly was wrong with your tranny? and that doesnt seem like a common problem among the 2gnters here.. did you actually see the damage yourself? our trannies are actually pretty durable.
