#45433, "different kind of exhast manifold gaskets for 420A"
I got the engine out and I bought a full gasket set for the rebuild. A while back I blew my stock manifold gasket. So I replaced it with a TTI racing copper gasket. I open my gasket box today and I noticed whoa that gasket does not look like that one I blew. It was all metal, like multi layer steel. Pretty good stuff, better than that composite crap I blew I'm guessing. Anyway I took a picture of all three gaskets next to each other just for a little comparison ^_^ of course I'm sticking with the TTI gasket though, since its supposedly indestructible and reusable

The composite one is a Felpro gasket, they suck ass for us turbocharged guys, never use them. The OEM MLS gasket shown is a good gasket, shouldnt have any problems w/ it, that gasket costs about 30 bucks and lasts a long time.

yeh I'm not gonna use the MLS gasket, it looks like good shit though. I'm gonna be in LA this weekend, maybe I can bring it along, I'm going to a drift event at Irwindale Speedway on Sunday.
Haha and yes I know that composite crap is no good i blew that sucka away, probably because I didn't torque it properly though O_0

I actually used the TTI one before, and it disintegrated on me as well.
Then I tried the composite one,and that failed. I've used teh MLS one by itself, and it also had problems due to the rivet indentions causing leakage issues since it doesn't mate perfectly with the HRC manifold.
So now, I use the composite one against the HRC manifold for proper mating, and also use the MLS one against the head. I haven't had any leakage problems now.
