i;ve never changed my fuel filter. do any of you recommend a particular brand or does it really matter? i figure i'd just go to kragen and pick one up.

Doesn't matter which brand you use. Purolator is good though. Make sure to:

1. Use goggles or gloves or a long sleeve shirt.
2. Be carefull not to strip any of the fittings.
3. Use the new washers that come with the filter.
4. Remember where the old washers belong when removing them.
5. Do NOT overtighten the fittings.
6. Double check filter for leaks. Put key in acc to turn on fuel
pump. You should not see fuel leak out in drips OR a
mist. Do same when engine on.
7. Double check filter for leaks.
8. Be carefull.
9. Double check filter, again!!!!
10. Take your time and may the force be with you.

Hey Soniclipse,

Do you or anybody else know if you have to relieve the fuel pressure before removing the filter? Also what size are the ratchets/sockets that are needed? I have a 95 talon and my filter is on the firewall.

thanks, i dunno about changing it myself after all, not sure if i trust myself to come through with out a hitch ya know. thanks for the info, i may try it out. i;m gonna see how much a mechanic would charge to do it.
