#44672, "scraping noise coming from the passenger side of engine bay?"

Ok the other day i was driving from va to miami fl. When i started the trip my car was running fine no unusual noises until i stopped at a rest area. The noise is undetectable under 1300 rpm but when i excelerate i can hear a rubbing noise coming from the area around the timing belts and powersteering pump. My car runs fine and has no power loss. I checked the powersteering fluid to find it a little low. Could it be my powersteering? I made it to miami fine with no problems but the noise is still there.

Is it a scraping/rattling type noise? If so I got the same thing and still can't figure out what it is. If you figure it out let me know. Maybe a heat sheild, timing belt is frayed?

You might should check the water pump b/c mine was making a rattling noise like what you are discribing, and the water pump just kinda busted wide open.

Also check to make sure your timing belt isn't scraping against the timing belt cover.

When I herd noise from that section...it was my timing belt going crazy inside the cover!! Check your inspection cover window and make sure its not... Both pullies were dead in mine... Good LUCK!!!
