I'm doing my T-belt and headgasket now. This is my first time attempting this. Its been fine so far...but. I can't get all of the bolts out of the passengers side motor mount bracket. Its the aluminum bracket that bolts to the engine. There are 2 bolts that will not come out. I pull them out as far as they go, but they hit the chassis...no go. I got the others out by raising or lowering the engine. I can't seem to lower the engine enough to get these out. I've cut away the t-belt plastic shield, so I can get better access, but still no luck. Am I trying the right things? I've lowered the cross member under the tranny so I can lower the engine more...but its not enough yet. I would like some advice before I keep lowering the engine (don't want it to fall out :o).

Corbin....this is what I did. Hold the engine in place with a jack and take off the two nuts that hold the mount to the engine. Pull the coolant over flow tank up to get access to the mount. Then take out the one bolt that holds the mount to the car. You might have to move the engine slightly to get the parts loose, but it all comes right off. Hope this helps.

Yeah...but thats the easy part. I need to remove the bracket that the motor mount is attached to. Its held to the engine with 4 bolts parallel to the ground. I got all but 2 out. There is not enough room between the engine and chassis to pull the whole bolt out of the hole. I'll drop the engine way down and see if that does it. Here's a pic of what I'm dealing with:
first u will need to unbolt those bolts (while they are still attached to the bracket). raise the engine all the way up, and then pull the bracket out while the bolts are still there, you won't be able to take the bolts out then the bracket, they will all come out together if you know what i mean.

Hey Corban I've had the same problem one week ago. I posted the same Q's on the board. No answers tho eventually , I had to drill a 1" hole in my fenderwall. How were you able to raise the engine high enough to have MAP sensor contact the fire wall.????

What do you mean...I never mentioned my MAP sensor. Are you saying that your MAP sensor hit the firewall when you tried to jack the engine up high? I had already removed the intake and exhaust manifolds by time I tried to get the motor mount off. So I didn't have to worry
