I raced my buddy's 95 eclipse rs manual that is bone stock except for a intake. When I raced him we were like neck and neck the whole way. Why couldn't I pull on him? Are the 16 inch rims hurting me that bad? Kinda makes me feel like I did all this modding for nothin. (this was off the bottle of course) Also my check engine light is on coming from my EGR valve. Would this have anything to do with it? Thanks guys for your time.

Ive got some 15"s on my car now off a ford probe. I can feel my car pull more w/the 15"s than the normal tsw vx1's(16 inch) i run on the car. The VX1's are real heavy though.

When was the last time you did a tune up, a complete tune up? How much gas did he have in his car? You? weight from sterio? Tire size? A smaller tire will accelerate faster by changing the overall ratio. Mabye your motor is a lil more tired then his, worn rings = less compression. Worn cams = less volume of air being moved. How much do you weigh vs him? A lot of little things will add up. peace

Complete tune up under a month ago, we weigh about the same, and I was empty on the tank of gas. I had a sub but really is that gonna make that big of a difference?

Yeah its possible his compression can be better thab yours maybe you should do a compression just to check and see.

try puting your cat back in.

HRC only suggests taking it off if you go satge III or higher(i may be wrong), not in fear of losing hp, but fear that the cat will fail and tear itself apart, and the resonator and muffler as well.(happened in my IROC - cats dont like being around for 13 years and 190,000+)

ive always been against removing cats unless absolutly required for safety. ie. MOST factory turbo cars are in a detuned grandma can drive me form so cats arent a biggy, a tweak tweak here and a tweak tweak there. and your ready to remove the cat from the hp you have through the stock parts.

my IROC is faster with a 2 1/2" cat & 60 series flow with dual left exit 2 1/4" than open headers. in the IROC the ECU uses the bacpressure to help tune the fuel curve. i didnt have the cat on for awhile and it was runnin rich as piss. ****NOT a TPI IROC BTW....its TBI****

never leaks, they never do, but my god why are they SOOOO fucking noisy?? chevy knows that the design is perfect, except for the noise....guess the pump is working to well and trying to really compress the fluid.

man, now i cant sell my IROC. ill keep my talon NT for awhile i guess.
