Just wondering why my temp climbs under wot. Even if for like 5 sec at wot. the gauge goes from about 9 oclock to 10+. That seems fast to me but just checking no cel or any problems that i can tell yet. Any ideas why.

Thanx the bottom hose is old but not leaking or egged or anything. The top is about a yr. old but looks brand new. Also the temp geos right back down to normal after I stop accelerating. It goes up and down really fast It acts like a turbo gauge but goes up not down. It changes that fast.

Hard to guess..
I had a climbing temps problem as well, but mine would rise when i was at a standstill, and then go down as I drove. Ended up needing a new radiator cap, I was losing pressure. It solved the problem though, so check that out.
When's the last time the cooling system was flushed? Is it possible to have a clog in there? How about the water pump? If all of these are ok, then you might want to check out the headgasket (worst case scenario).
Are DSM's just prone to overheating for some reason? Or is it that we just drive the hell out of them ?
