Actually, I'm planning to install my cooler that's been sitting in my garage from who knows when. I just wanna make sure what the sizes are before I start pulling shit out. It's the tranny cooler from PermaCool.

The stock AT cooler lines are ID-5/16". Here's what I did and it worked GREAT. My B&M Race AT cooler came with 1/2" in & out ports. I installed a 1/2" Male to 3/8" Female fitting in each port. I then installed a 3/8" Female to ID-3/8" Barb fitting into each port. (All fittings from Home Depot). I pulled all my old tranny cooler lines and replaced them with 3/8" tranny cooler line from autozone. I had to buy 8 new clamps so the lines would completely seal to the old hard lines.

The brass fittings were in the bathroom plumbing dept. in Home Depot. I have part numbers if you need them.

Do you have a tranny temp gauge? It's a good thing for us AT guys to have!

Fittings made by WATTS AB

A-828 - PB110 MALE PIPE TO FIP BUSHING 1/2" X 3/8"
A-294 - PB225 I.D. BARB TO MIP ADAPTER 3/8" X 3/8"

That's exactly what's on the bags. Good luck and let us know how that Permacool works for ya!

How much and where did you get the tranny coolers? Is it worth while to have and do you get any kind of gain...or is it just to keep things cooler. dont know anything about it but would like to know, TIA

It's to cool down the tranny fluid. When pushing a lot of power/tq through the tranny or when using a high stall torque converter, the fluid heats up. The hotter the fluid is, the shorter the life of your tranny. Once it gets to a certain temperature, it looses it's lubricating properties. No gain other than a longer lasting tranny. Stock engines/trannys don't need an auxilary cooler. Hope that helps.

About $50 from summitracing.com. The B&M supercoolers are good ones.
