I imagine swapping harnesses is nothing more hten simple wiring, bad part would be making sure that you are getting the proper wires into the proper place on the new harness. Yeah its a pain in the ass, worth it? If it means getting your beast running mo betta and getting rid of cel's...then who cares? Do it emoji

Dude i am not the one to rub anything in anybodies face, god knows how many times I have screwed up big time when others told me some good advice.

Listen to me! Chrysler DIDNOT make any cloud cars with a 2.4liter manual period. Call the dealer, call junkyards, call anybody. The only manual option was the 2.0 SOHC 420a motor, which makes less power than the DOHC version in our cars.

You are seriously hurting your engine. The computer doesn't know where the extra cam, air flow, and other things came from. You are really messing up your motor. I hope you didn't sell these things to anybody else. If you noticed I asked for one first, but after the hours of research I did, I knew you had the wrong ECU. I even sent AIM messages and emails trying to warn you.

If he has a 2.4L AT ECU, then it would be a different story. His ECU would have a LTFT and STFT of -22% or so. I can't imagine that the ECU would like that. I bet that as soon as it went into closed loop (greater the 80% throttle), it freaked out. It probably popped at least one "bank XX too rich" code. Probably popped some other code because the AT's PCM expects to control torque converter lockup. The AT ECU also pulls fuel FAST (!!!!!) when you let off of the gas. Also, at the shift point, it pulls timing. this all combines to make for a horrendous bucking experience when driving with a MT. Also, if it is pulling 22% of the fuel, it will be giving an insanely low load figure, which will result in astronomical timing advance, maybe enough to knock, which would pull timing (and confuse the ECU). I don't think that you would feed an imrpovement with the 2.4 AT ECU.

My bet is on the 2.0 SOHC MT ECU. Now, you have it all confused. It will run slightly lean, expecting a lower volumetric effeciency then the DOHC has. Probably works fine at idle, but when it wants to go balls to the wall in closed loop (again, more then 80% throttle), it will run lean. Maybe enough to knock.

Either way, I would get a datalogger on it and see what the f*** it is doing. I guarantee that it will not be pretty, though.

Uhh.. no. You're the idiot. The Sebring came with a 2.0L 420A in both auto and manual, and a 2.5L V6 in auto only. There is no 2.4L 95-2000 420A powered 'Bring.

Prove me wrong. emoji

I'm not saying you are wrong, but there IS a 2.4L sebring. Its a 96 convertible. I checked on edmunds.com. But it didnt give gas mileage listings for a manual, which would leave me to believe that there wasn't one. So would the stock 2.0L ECU be used with the 2.4L block? I have confused myself, and I dont really know what I am talking about anymore. Sorry for my idiocy, but I'm pretty tired.

It's very possible, but i bet it's not the 2.4L Chrysler motor in question.

Omg ECUs for the 1995 Sebring:

Elec Cont Unit (ECU), (L fr eng comp), 6-153 (2.5L)
Elec Cont Unit (ECU), (L fr eng comp), 4-122 (2.0L), MT, Fed
Elec Cont Unit (ECU), (L fr eng comp), 4-122 (2.0L), MT, Calif
Elec Cont Unit (ECU), (L fr eng comp), 4-122 (2.0L), AT

Notice there isnt even an option for the 2.4, there wasn't a 95 convertible either. The 2.0 didn't have enough torque for the extra weight, Mitsu did the same thing, but use the 4G64 instead.

Atleast he knows now when people say "The dealership ripped me off" or "the dealership fucked my car up" or "them people at the dealership dont know shit" he knows exactly where we are coming from.

howell sells the mopar pcm for $220. not the howell afx. i meant that the computer is for the motor with the reverse flowing head

Howell makes an AFX ECU for the 97 MTX 2GNT. The Mopar ecu is an upgraded unit, but it is not made for our cars and probably will not work for you.
