#43447, "free intake opportunity"

I work for AEM in Hawthorne CA. We are looking for a 95-99 GS, hardtop to use to make installation instructions for our new V2 intake system. We would need the car for a full work day (8-5) to do this.
IF you live in the LA area and might be interested, please contact me. The person will receive a free V2 intake (after they have gone through production).
Thanks

Question, why not RS's also? Same engine bay or do you need a better looking car for displaying this free intake? Not that I can participate unless I drive across the whole damn country but just wondering.

I've seen nice improvements on the dyno from this design as opposed to the standard intakes in SCC. Someone needs to jump on this!

AEM is a great company.

I've seen these for sale on eBay...are those auctions fake? If AEM hasn't released it yet I don't see how they can sell them.

gotcha ez! it was me. the V2 had a perfect fitment on my car, because i hacked a portion of the splash guard. the outlet size of the pipe which connects to the filter is 3 1/2 in. so the larger piping seems to have an issue with the splash guard. i'll post some pics later.

Cool, is your battery smaller than stock though? Is it a tight fit with a stock battery? Let me know how it works out...

Hey Clay, they still are going to use my car emoji Aaron told me that since your car's splash guard has been modded, they couldn't fit the v2 like they needed to. So monday morning before work, they are gonna use my car. sweet!

oh yea, and about the "hardtop." That's b/c I was informing AEM about which models had the 4g63, 4g64, and 420a, and the spyders don't use the 420a

And also, we won't get any dyno figs on this yet. They have already dynoed it and designed it, they merely need our cars to test fit.

give me a dyno of 15+ *wheel* hp and ill pay MSRP. ive read the SCC article about the civic *DX* 16.7hp at the wheels. and i mean.... a DX.... weve got more balls than a dx on our bad days.

OH YEAH!!! my homeboy would love it if you were going to make the V2 for 97+ AT preludes.

i think the PCV should be at an almost horizontal angle, it protrudes to far north in those fitment pics not to distact from the visual appeal. and i know AEM likes to please the eye. with that steep a pricetag, for a CAI - i know the engineering it took so no one flame me on that, i feel that we the consumers should be able to suggest a slight modification that would benifit both parties. ie. AEM recieves great visual marks thus gaing reputation (as if anyone has not heard of AEM by now) and a larger customer base, and we get an easier to install peice of working art that trancends into the V2.

did i sell my point? i hope.

cool ez. hope everything turns out well with your vist. the v2 for the civic happens to have a slightly larger intake piping, from the filter side. which would explain the higher dyno #.

well why did we get shortchanged with the 3 1/2", why do hondas always get more love? its still better than nothing though.

clay, did you understand what i was talking about the PCV? if it does come that way, ill buy a handheld pipe bender and tweak it down a little.
