What benefits if any will I see from an oil cooler? I am not suggesting a HP increase, but will my engine run better, last longer, anything?

Oil works best at certain temperatures. If it gets too hot then it actually starts to break down and lose its lubricating properties.

no HUGE HP increase. Nothing noticeable anyways. It will however increse your engine life as it helps cool down the oil that in turn helps cool down your engine. Think of it as a secondary form of engine coolant. Its not that big of an investement for that little extra margine of safety or atleast to help put your mind at easy when you run her a little hard.

I'm thinking of going turbo, can I use an oil cooler pre turbo oil inlet so that cooler oil is going into the turbo?

Don't even bother with cooling the oil before or after the turbo. There is very little flow in that line. I think your best bet is to just install a normal oil cooler with sandwich adapter behind one of the brake scoops. You will get alot of oil flow through it and alot of air flow too.

If you want to help the turbo, run engine coolant through the water jacket on the turbo. I did this on my 16G a few months ago. It really is easy.

Hey Corbin, I've actually been meaning to do the same thing to my turbo.

Any write-up on this one, or any advice on parts. I know another guy on the baord did this with some pictures, and I was just wondering if you had duplicated that?
