this place is a little expensive.. but I know they always have them in stock. they are located 10 minutes from where I live and have a huge ass warehouse full of shit. they used to be called advance performance.
Damn.....wish it were as simple to put that in our car as it is for a 1st gen. Would be great for boasting rights. (and boosting rights) $1900 seems decent for an engine shipped to your door. Especially one from a 220hp Lancer.
Not too bad, but that also doesnt include the intercooler,tranny,axles,or ECU that you would need. hey RAIZIN, how hard exactly is that swap for our cars?

It seriously can't be that hard. Hardest part seems like it would be ECU/wiring related. If you had a donor car with tranny and axles, it should be easy enough. Our car did come off the same line, so there can't be that big of structural differences if any. Sure seems to be more cost effective than $3000+ for turbo kit. I'm assuming that motor would come with injectors and all too...
Like I said in the past. Motor swaps around here are as common as you change your tantarans. I've seen the Cyclone get dropped in a mirage, mitsu mighty max truck, and several 2gnt's. And actually. The wiring harness is the easiest as long as you know where all the sensors are and where to route the wiring so that the insulation does not melt due to heat. You can get the swap kit that contains brackets to use as motor mounts for a clean look or you can have them custom fabricated which, in my experience, is a lot cheaper. ARD tells you that it will fit in 1g's but that's only because it's drop in/ plug and play with those vehicles. And like I said.. they charge a little more because the motor has already be rebuilt and warranted against defect. The ones you can get from other sources I know are from japanese yards.. as is. I'm currently watching Mechtech transplant a japanese turbo silvia engine in a datsun 510 as well as turbcharging an M3.
Well that actually sounds hopeful to me. Is it strictly motor and tranny mounts in are car that are different form our turbo bretheren? If so, that aspect should be a direct bolt-in. As far as I can tell, most of it should be direct bolt in no fabrication until you hit the ECU aspect. The downpipe and exhaust are interchangeable. The axles aren't a big deal obviously. Honestly, I would much rather take on a project like that than spend $3000 for a turbo kit. Maybe the 420a is superior in some respects, but it still costs so much to prep the motor for decent amounts of boost, and parts are cheaper for 4g63, and much more available. A 1G 4g63 or a modded 2G 4g63 would be fairly cheap to come by from a wrecked car, or even that cyclone motor and buy a used tranny. Any details on the engine swap? It would be a little easier to piece together a project like this than to drop 3k to start a turbo kit. Am I on to something or is this the wrong path?
