#42699, "RE: Shortening stock shifter." In response to Reply # 1
see, i made mine really short, shorter than what it says on that writeup. i cut out the mid section and all, but i also cut another inch out of the bottom. it may be hard to explain, but ill try. ok, like hold up your shifter. you can see where the shaft is welded to the pivot point. well there is that peice of flat steel that runs about an inch up the shaft. i cut out that tubing also. then i just took that center peice, welded it to the pivot point, then welded the top part to the center peice, just like it says to do in the writeup. its really short and its very strong, as long as you get a good welder to weld it for you. i havent had any probs.
