#42634, "NA Intercooler?"

My friend that claims his NA supra is 300 whp said he had some sort of "intercooler" setup on his car. In the cold weather, he brought it up, because it makes it so that his car doesn't have heat and never warms up enough to provide heat.

Just curious if such a thing exists, or if he doesn't know what he's talkin about. And if it does exist, are there any applications for us 2gnt people?

He's one of those people that have money and let the mechanics do whatever they want.

No, naturally aspirated cars do NOT have intercoolers, unless they are non functioning ones. This guy is blowing smoke up your a** or he is an idiot.

You know you could spend the money on one and pipe it in. Wheather or not it would acutally work is up in the air. I suppose it would work to an extent, but would actually slow down the air flowing into the throttle body. So don't discount that he may have done it. It is just impractable.
About the 300whp. Kind need a turbo or some serious nitrous to do that with the N/A engine on the supra.

If you would like add an obstruction to the intake path of an NA motor and reduce power... sure go ahead and slap on an intercooler.

*edit*
If he doesn't heat up in the winter his thermostat is probably stuck open, or the heater core is broken.

Don't get me wrong, I was just wondering if it were true or not. This talk happened a couple months ago and it's been bothering me that he might have had something that I didn't know anything about.

But now i'm sure he doesn't know what he's talking about... i shoulda known after he said he couldn't pop his hoodpinned hook because "his mechanic had the key."

Damn, that alone should have been a dead giveaway.
