Search sucks and "Things seen b4" is down.

How exactly does Howell reprogram our ECU? Does he swap anything (chips, ports etc) out or put anything in? I know they advance ignition timing, raise Rev limit to 8k,remove CEL for cat and EGR. Anything else?

He actually reprograms the memory in the ECU itself, there is no EPROM chip on our ECU, it's integrated into the board.

I'm curious about this. I've done some reprogramming in the component automation field and it didn't seem like the interfaces used to communicate and override preprogrammed chips were that advanced. I wonder if any of the EEs on the board or any of the other career tech guys could reverse engineer something to make it possible for everyone to do this themselves? (And yes, I know that reverse enineering software is illegal as hell and I'm not advocating it, I'm just curious how you become capable of doing such things!):7

I am not sure, but I think that this link describes our PCM, somewhat at least. Check it out, or at least forward it to Tom and see if he can figure it out.

I don't know how useful it will be but hey, He's got two ECU's in the mail. Your 97 (auto) and a 95 (manual).

Sweet emoji
