#4240, "I NEED MORE TOP END!!!!!!"

ok at work today at lunch i took my car out on a country road and it topped out at around 116-120...it is an auto. i was at 6.5k rpms and i need more top end power. so that when i am at 6.5 i am doing 120-130. can anyone help? what all needs upgraded and would i be better off getting an ecu from a manual and getting all the crap to swap to a manual. the manual has a higher redline and can handle more power right? so what top speeds am i looking at with an auto vs a manual?

More top end power isn't going to help you. Different gearing would. In a 5-speed, if you tap out 4th gear, you should be right at 115MPH. I've gotten up to 135 (indicated) in my car and I was pleased enough. That's good enough to kill you anyway. Just worry about acceleration.

Yeah with this turbo I easily hit 125 on the FREEWAY, and that was kinda scary. So if you wanna get to that speed fast get a turbo. I suggest you try and trade your car for a manual, only because manual give you so much more power and control. Even when my car was NA I still felt it had enough horsies.

Yeah if you really want the top speed to improve you'll need to do the manual swap.

I've hit 130mph on the highway with four people an dthe AC on and she still had some pull to her. I had very little done to the car the time. At best Injen Short Ram, possibly just the K&N drp in filter.
