Okay, so Jon and I redid the oilpan gasket Saturday and she's still a-leakin, but from above the pan. I'm not sure if this is residual from when I had the valve cover leak (which has been replaced and we did that head bolt grind down mod) that is running down the back when it warms up, or if it's head gasket or rear main seal. The car runs great, and I was thinking, wouldn't I get some smoke from the exhaust if it were the HG? Even if only randomly? And wouldn't the HG leak more water/coolant than oil? If it is the RMS, who's changed it themselves? How hard is it? TIA I am curious about this. Once I get this piddlin shit out the way I can start adding power!

I've changed my rear main seal myself. There's nothing really difficult about it, it's just a pain to get to because you have to drop the tranny and pull the clutch off.

Wait, when you replaced the VC gasket, you detorqued one of the headbolts? If you removed a headbolt and replaced it, then I would bet that the gasket is leaking now. -=B-=

Where is the sending unit located?
Mine burns oil sometimes out the tailpipe, and I can smell it too, but the thing is, is that the coolant is fine, and has no oil in it. BTW, I changed the VC gasket, and spark seals.

Do you really think the HG could be leaking from removing/replacing one head bolt? It IS leaking from the rear to the point that last night I was checking under the hood with a flash light and smoke was rising up from under the intake. If only the 420 sat a little closer to the radiator than the firewall
