Can some one tell me when I should replace the stock ones? I would like to get slotted rotors but if my stock ones will last for a while then I will wait. HOw do you know when your stock rotors are bad?

Most of the time you can just get the rotors machined, unless they are too thin. I don't know the exact measurement (I'm at work, Chilton's guide is at home), but if you don't have the Chilton's guide and plan on modding your car, you should pick it up anyways. Very helpful book for only $20.
Is there a reason you want to replace them? Are they squeaking or vibrating?

The vibrating means that the rotors are warped. All four of my stock rotors were and I upgraded to Powerslot rotors and metal master pads. I am very happy with them and no more vibrating.

The biggest downside would have to be the vibrating I think. But also a decrease in the effectiveness of the brakes maybe, I would think that with the pads not being flat all of the time on the rotor surface it wouldn't stop as good. The vibration does get very annoying after a while though. I drove around like that for about 3 months.

Well actually I did have them checked out and the guy said that I should replace them. But I didnt have the money at that time but he said just to do it some time in the future. I had my brake pads changed though.(oem) Actually I should just buy some new powerslot rotors from carparts before the 20 percent discount expires.(140 shipped to my door for both fronts, not bad heh)
