#41917, "camshaft and camgear questions. Please help if you know timing"
I just installed my new engine and once again i have another problem. the check engine light is on, i hooked it up to a computer at the local shop and it said code number 0340 camsaft placement sensor. In addition to that, the sounds and smells like its running a little to rich. My cam gears r set at 0 degrees. is there a way to adjust the camgears to correct this? And what do most of u run on your camgear settings. i really dont know much about timing soo im willing to listen. Please help

The timing may be off a tooth if the motor was put together incorrectly. The only way to check that is to pull the crank pulley and the timing cover and check the marks.
Otherwise check the cam position sensor on the front right side of the head, it reads the exhaust cam position. check the connection on that.
