i would like to know the signs and stuff to look for in a bad water pump, or onces thats no good?.. like would it be leaking something from the timing belt area where the pump is at or? also anything else i should look for? my coolant temp is all over the place recently. ( look at my post below )... thanks Michael 99gs HRC Stage 2 Stage 3 process begins gathering parts for rebuild http://www.dreamwater.net/purplebeast

Yep, just did all that shit not too long ago. The area around your timing belt will drip, mine usually was visible when the car was shut off. do NOT try to extend life with stopleak, i tried it. The leaking was slowed quite a bit, but the results were disgusting when i got the timing belt cover. It'll leak under the cover. A good way to see is by running the car, then pulling off the timing check plastic piece at the top, and seeing if your belt is wet.

well im going to check this out now.. how much do i got to run the car? my car overheats if i go over 3000rpm a few times. just got to remove the little cover to check to see if the gears lines up for timing that window right? cool Michael 99gs HRC Stage 2 Stage 3 process begins gathering parts for rebuild http://www.dreamwater.net/purplebeast

yea, more than likely the belt will be all wet and nasty. Or, you can go against my word and put stopleak in and watch it all gum up under your TB cover

Well if you can get under the car, you should be able to see the residue from the leak down near the oil pan and filter. And you will see the trail from the pump area. It will only leak inside the cover if it is a seal issue, if it's leaking from the weep hole then it will not go inside the cover.
