Hey Oracle,

There is no drain plug ... not to bash the makers of the tranny or anything but WHAT TYPE OF MORON LEAVES OF A DRAIN PLUG. Anyway you can do one of 2 things. Unbolt the tranny oil pan and just let a little out or siphon some out of where you put the tranny fluid in. If you're in need of a tranny oil change get someone to put a drain plug on your tranny fluid pan. You'll thank it when it comes time to change it again or you need to drain a little out. Don't know about the fuel cut.

My car's a 99 auto. No cut at 110. Dunno about that. I say to avoid messing up your gasket and making a mess, try to siphon some out. I would only take the pan off as a last resort though. You take a risk of losing too much fluid or damaging the gasket.

the auto trans has two metal lines that come out of it to go to the trans cooler. just take the rubber hoses off and start the car (might have to put it in gear). i don't know how much of a mess this will make cuz i never tried it, but the fluid will definatley come out of one of those lines.

bull shit all you guys saying that you hit 120-130 with autos adn no real mods are fucking lying. either that or my car is a fucking piece of shit and that isnt the case. i totally agree with oracle about the top speed of an auto. actually i got 116-120 by 6.5 but there is no way without some good mods that you can hit 130 without hitting a rev limit. also i have heard autos say that they hit 7k and i feel that is total bullshit. maybe i am totally wrong but untill i ride an auto that does 130 at 7 or whatever the claim is that isnt turbo or nos then i will say it is bull shit. hahahah dont take me too serious but for real though i know some guys out there are saying shit that aint true. we arent here to like judge you just state what your car does to help everyone else out. hopefully with a udp i will get closer to 125 or so.and if i get headers and exhaust then hoping 130 ... whatcha think?

sorry i just read this and i dont want Avenger to take any of this as personal to him. man i believe with your mods its cool...none of this was to you.

Maybe shit is different in 99 than the other years. I know the computer for the tranny is different. I got my car up to 120 and it was completly stock and not at redline in 4th. It was two weeks after I bought the car. I have no reason to lie, and I am not lieing. Now I will admit that lately I have been having trouble with the car going faster when already at high speeds. So lets see, maybe use "liers" will have to get a camcorder and video tape the 120 mph run. Any stock autos out there want to do this.

I sure like sd_eclipse's comment... lol

Like your "friend" said, take the head of a pump spray bottle, attach a long thin hose to it, stick it in where you pour the transmission fluid and start pumping. Works pretty good and doesn't cost anything...

Your car is a fucking piece of shit. : ) My bone ass stock 97 RS auto hit 125mph. Thats with fouled plugs and 50K mile, stock plug wires. This is in third gear, too.

Dude, take off o/d and go for it. If you are in 0/D, you won't hit 115+, theres simply not enough torque in O/D.

also i have heard
>autos say that they hit
>7k and i feel that
>is total bullshit.

I wish. I shift at 6300. I would LOVE a 7200 shift point!!

You should hit 120-125 in third gear STOCK. Once you get to 125, shift into o/d and with your header/exhaust/pulley, you *might* get 135.

One of those lines broke while I was driving and I will say that it left one hell of a mess and stunk for days. I lost 5 quarts of tranny fluid when it happened and the fluid got all over the engine, battery and all under the hood and car. The line broke where it hooks to the tranny. I don't think I would take the line off to get fluid out because you might get it all over the place.

lol, you're right. sorry, i didn't mean to say just take the hoses off and let the fluid squirt into the fan. yeah, that would make a hella mess! i was thinking of taking the hoses off and letting them hang down into an oil drain pan. but i'm still not sure of how hard the fluid squirts out of there. maybe drape a rag over the hoses while there in the pan? i dunno. just a suggestion.

Oh, btw. Don't videotape it and put it online. I heard of this getting people tickets and a revoked license b4. Just my .02. The car will go faster though. Maybe your TPS is bad??? I have never heard of our cars having fuel cut. I know a guy that says his engine stalls out at 120. His was a 95.

To drain a bit of fluid you can just unbolt the fitting (hose) from the bottom of the radiator (on driver's side) and let it drip out...very easy...

The reason that automatic trannys do NOT have drain plugs is because people would drain the fluid and replace it and NEVER change the filter. This way they have NO excuse when the pan is down to JUST drain the fluid. THEN change the filter also.
Yes, loosening the LOWER line at the radiator and letting it drain into a empty oil or coffee can so you can see how much you drain out. Usually you don't need to start engine as pretty much will drain when you open the line.
GOOD LUCK

Well, this has bothered me for some time so I am finally gonna post. Going 120+ MPH is very very stupid. At that speed you hit anything (rock, pothole, groove in the pavement etc...) you are gonna DIE. Fuck an air bag, fuck a seatbelt - you will die. I personally have done around 122 in my car, and having crashed my car at 70 mph - I will tell you it sucks. Luckily when I crashed I hit soft grass, and some reeds, but I got a nice little ticket for failure to slow for a curve, and an 80 fine. So, let me say this the roads we drive on are not built to handle a car going 120 mph, there are too many imperfections, and contigencies - if you are gonna go 120 do it on a track, if you get caught at that speed - might as well get out of the car and put your hands behind your head because you can kiss it all goodbye, license, car, bail money; if they give you bail. Do not do this on city streets I do not want your dumb ass killing me, my family, my friends, or yourself. That being said I am sure I will catch a little bit of flack for "over-reacting" but it has pissed me off for some time. Please stay safe guys, I do not want all the 2gnts to have to come together for a fellow 2gnt funeral. Kahn

Amen Kahn.

Here’s a little high speed near crash tale of mine.

Friend driving, nother friend sitting gun, Im laying in the backend trunk space face up staring through the glass in an RX7. We’re heading south on hwy 62 (?) from Morongo Valley heading to Palm Springs. After getting through the mountains there is a straight run slightly downhill for a couple of miles to I-10. We start getting up to about 115 mph maybe more, driver friend said 120 mph. Suddenly the front left tire blows. Friend hits the brakes, they lock, car is sliding slowing beginning to turn left. Just as we are about at a 45° angle left from straight. Damn if you would have seen it, the right rear tire blows. The car straightens out and slids straight ahead to a stop. I think we slid maybe a couple hundred yards, we didnt really bother to look.

All I could think of was if that car got another foot or so side ways it would have roled and I would have been bounced straight through that glass and off the asphalt.

Buts heres the kicker. Here we are, two flats out in the middle of the desert and guess what comes wheeling down the road not more than five minutes later. A guy hauling a bunch of used wheels in a trailer. He pulls over, give him $20, he gives same trashed, but useable, wheels and in 10 minutes we were on our way.

Let me tell you fellas sumpin there is a God, and he likes me.

yes...very sorry. i have only been to 116 once and usually only drive about 5mp over speed limit. a few times i have excedded that but like i said "usually". i also stated before that it is stupid to drive that fast on any road except a track. on that note i am done.

If I ever drive that fast, I make sure I am on an open highway and no other cars are around. I hate seeing dumbasses in daylight weaving in and out of highway traffic at 110. It's crzy. High speeds are not meant to handle quick lane changes. I say keep it on the track, unless u are 100% sure you are the only one at risk. And even not seeing any other cars, it is still risky. There could be people or animals around. U never think, but if you are going 100, and you hit a rabbit. Your front bumper will explode, and as a natural reaction, you will probably swerve. If not, better hope nothing hits your tires. Oh well, just my $ .02. I don't go that fast anymore.

we have a local track that is like 20 min from my house that they have races at and i know the owner so he lets me take my car out on his track and race...kinda sucks cause it is just long enough to get up to about 100 and then run down in teh corner adn gun it out and then hit about 116 and i back off cause the next turn in commin adn you GOTTA slow down...i dont wanna flip my car or anything. anyways thats how i go fast safely....kinda. i wish he had a longer straight away. like 1 mile straight away or something hehehehehe
