One of my buddies is going to buy a '91 talon tsi, but the only thing is, is that the trans. is out of it.

I was wondering how hard would it be for me and him to do it? I have a lot of auto skills, but I have never replaced a trans in a front driver.

If possible could someone list some of the steps, or pm them to me?

Like I said, I know that I can do it, but I just was making sure that there wasn't anything extra that I need to know about before we tried to do it.

BTW, a salavge yard across from where he lives said that they would put it in for $500. He says that they are trustworthy.

Thanks!

Justin

Its easy did it on my 90 laser. Basicaly un-plug all wires disconect shifter linkage pop the axles (hardest part imo) and unbolt it. Me and a buddy did it in about 6 hours it was the first time either of us had done a tranny but we both had alot of automotive knowledge. Buy a haynes manual and it takes you step by step through it, its worth the $15 or whatever it is. If after your done the clutch does not fully disengage adjust the clutch engagment point nut and bolt under the dash (manual will show you how) this happend to us and took forever to figure out emoji . Hope that helps some any questions just ask.
