I too have the problem of the pulley/bearing noise in my 1998 talon. I am planning on buying the bearings from www.mcmaster.com.
I have a few questions.
How do I get to the bearing to take it out?
Will the bad bearing be noticable once the pulley is out?(also how many bearings are there?)
How many bearing should I buy to be sure?
What tools will i need / Any grease needed for the bearing(s)??

I used the search, but came up with just info on what the problem was, and how to solve it. I am just looking for some info on sucessfully getting rid of this terrible noise.
I have been asked by people to "tighten youre belts"..and "do i hear a turbo under the hood?"

yo here's how you get it out.
remove the pulley from the tensioner assembly, there should be the lock nut, the bearing shaft, the tensioner block, the tensioner screw that goes into the tensioner block, and a shield for the bearing. once you get the pulley off you have to remove a retaining clip from one side of the pulley. you can use a small screw driver, but don't let it fling out and get lost. after you remove this clip then you have to either press the bearing out or do like i did i got a propane torch and heated up the pulley until the bearing was easily tapped out. wait for the pulley to cool and clean it off. then heat it back up again and tap the new bearing back in. let it cool, cool it rather quickly, i sprayed some water on it with a windex sprayer. then replace the clip and put it al back together again. you will only need 1 bearing. you can buy a few because they are pretty cheap and keep them as spares.

Can anybody cross ref the link below and get it to work? Since this has been posted, we've changed board setups. I'm looking for the McMaster P/N for the A/C pulley bearing which I believe may be in the linked post.
