#40808, "service manual scan of trans shift levers?"

Anyone have a scan from a service manual showing the way the cables terminate at the trans? Shifters as well? Pics would suffice too. I'm Neon-friendly, not Eclipse knowledgable. Fill me in on differences between years if there are any. Also, I'd like to check out one or more cars in the Minneapolis/St.Paul/western WI area as well.

There's a point to all this, not just random ramblings...

Thanks, that starts to answer a question or two. Guess I'll have to eyeball a car to get the rest of the answers. Sure looks like a rough drawing of a trans resembling what I'm used to seeing. Except, the bushings on the trans end of the cables look to be retained by a clip of some kind instead of snapping into place. Basically I'm looking to see if/where my shifter bushings cross over with these cars. I knew the shifter end of the cables were different. Any known issues with shifter cable bushings on the trans end breaking down or becoming worn to the point of becoming "sloppy"?

Tell ya what... I will order a set when my check comes in on Wednesday and let you know what fits and what doesn't. The shifter side looks a bit different, but not all that different. The shifter side might work. It is difficult to ge the stock bushing out of our shifter cable, as I remember, but I wouldn't mind a stiffer shifter feel. I have a chopped stock shifter arm, and I plan on doing the McFab transmission side arm, too. I am nuts, and this will be a super short throw, so any slack that I can take out of the assembly is much welcomed.
Thanks for hopping over to this forum, Jeff,

By the way, those clips above the bushings are just the cotter pins to hold the shift cable on the nipple of the shift arms on the transmission. I use safety pins there, as I have it all apart quite frequently, and safety pins are easier to remove then cotter pins.

Dude, Boeing called. They want their wing back.
