alright.. my CEL is on and its #21 the 02 sensor.. now i have a gutted cat so i thought it was that, but my car after WOT and some normal driving has a nasty fuel smell... not like a gas smell, but im not sure.. also the car seems to idle weird, like it will sound like its ganan die, then jump up to 2k, then come back down...just some weird stuff., do you think its the front 02 sensor? and would the rear one cause anything? also where can i get a front 02 sensor.. they want like $130 at local part store... thanks

ok, 21 means either up or downstream, it could be either one, and if you just gutted the cat my guess is the downstream, but I would go to autozone and have them pull the Pxxxx codes its will tell exactly which o2 sensor is bad, if its the downstream one do this (cause the rear will always come up bad with your gutted cat and this is the only way to get rid of the CEL http://www2.cesa12.k12.wi.us/brent/personal/neon/pic/cat_resistor.html if its the front (upstream), call

i have a gutted cat and also both my O2 sensors are good and i don't get a CEL. its probably the front if its running really rich cause that is the only one that effects the air/fuel ratio. if you take your car to autozone have them run the 'IMMONITORS' test on the code reader. autozone also has the universal O2 sensors for around $70 but you gotta wire then up yourself, it comes with everything you need to do the wiring and its easy.
