alrighty this will be a long post oh boy,
n/a vers turbo,
N/a no turbo lag no spool time, fast reving, easier to tune, no big fuel pressure problems, cheaper to build, more expensive to get same power as the turbo option
n/a downfalls, not many mods, expensive to get *alot* of power have to be a good tuenr to get that power out of the car, needs to be lighter to compensate less power,
turbo, expensive to start but cheap to make go real fast, challenging to tune properly and keep motor safe compared ot an n/a setup,
there are hi comp pistons somone is running a 10.5:1 turbo car around here i forget his name
there are 3 flavors of pistons u can buy, 8.6:1 , je has 8.8:1 pistons for us ther are 10.5:1 pistons and 12.5:1 pistons all n the forged flavor,
the problems with hi comp n/a moors and high boost motors is with that much power being rammed in u need higher octane fuel, meaning posssibly at or above 12.5:1 u will hit detonation and neeed fuel additives or higher octane fuel to keep the motor from pinging it self to death,
if u want pistons and motor work check out, Blackdogmotorsports.com hes the 420a all motor king, he can set u up witha 2.2 motor (or bored out 2.0) not to much more expensive then a normal motor and he can make your cylinder head look like a mirror with his port jobs,
also there is raceeng.com for pistons and rods, they have good service and nice prices,
howell, ARD phatridz.com, forwardmotion modernperformance, lots of places to get parts for our motors most are unknown because i have mentioned the top neon motor builders.
if u want a beefy n/a motor i know somone whose running around 250whp on his n/a 2.4
if u did a 2.4 swap and then bored it out to a 2.6 knifeedged the crank light flywheel port the head hi comp pistons new ignitions and the normal bolt ons, ud be making some nice power some where in hte realm of 250whp properly tuned..
with the 2.0 it is hard to get alot of power out of it without increasing displacment.
You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.
If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good. If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast. If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.
