let me guess.....
sounds like a bunch of rocks tumbling around inside a coffee can?
it's been driving me fucking crazy for awhile now. I remember someone saying throwout bearing once, but never found out if that's what it is. now I'm starting to faintly hear it while driving every once and a while.
oh yeah.....the colder it is, the worse it is right?

Anyone have any input?

Yep, it sounds like the throwout bearing is going bad.

Oh you guys nailed it -- only happens when its cold -- just started getting cold here -- but I also just had a clutch installed 15K miles ago - wtf. So how much time do I have until this thing blows up again??

Damn it -- I don't want to have this thing torn down again.

it sounds like the throwout bearing which should have been replaced with the clutch. Any possibility that it wasn't?

luckily for me, I still have a warranty of sorts(bought the car from carmax)....and as soon as I can get back to stock...hehe...they're going to fix my shit for me. I first heard this sound before I even bought the car, guy told me it was just because it was cold and had been sitting on the lot for awhile....I took his word for it since they were giving me a warranty anyways.
Sucks dude...It's like a $40 dollar part I think...no big deal, but you have to pull your tranny to fix it(so I'm told).

hey, anyone know what kind of mods will or will not void a warranty?

sinesis, any highly visible mods in your engine bay are sure to void warranty (like intake). Also it might behoove you to raise your car back to stock height if it's dropped. But that's up to you. Your stb's should be cool.

I had the same problem with the ratteling pebbles in a coffee can right behind the driverside front tire. I just changed the tranny oil and i havent heard it since. I think that it started when i brought it to jiffy lube and they put the wrong stuff in. But my tranny shifts 100% better now and i havent heard the noise since..
