My question is can we use the tensioner from our 2.0 on a 2.4 or do we have to use the 2.4 tensioner. We have a 98 2.4 and the tensioner is just a pulley that pivots to tension the belt, the 2.0 one looks much much better. All the stuff i have read on the neon board is just confusing me. Any help is appreciated.

I'm i'm correct 1995 and 1996 engine: hydraulic tensionner like the Avenger Eclipse and Neon and a different water pump (probably the same as the Avenger Eclipse Neon)

1996 1/ and up mechanical tensioner, different oil pump, different water pump different timming bel;t cover
If you want to go hydraulic or black dog solid temsioner you would need 1 hydraulic tensioner, 1 1995-1996 style water pump, 1 1995-1996 style timming bel cover, and 1 metal shim from Bob Stockum or builtone yourself
