well i just got my car back from the shop today, they were supposed to find and stop an oil leak i have had for a while. they found that the sending unit was leaking, and cam position sensor. i dont know what to look for, and i dont know what else to do. they have done the dye/blacklight test, then cleaned the engine completely free of oil and watched where it ran, thats what led them to believe it was the sending unit. your going to think im crazy, but i swear it only leaks oil when the car has been just started, or when its shut off. any ideas? thanks a bunch
Brandon

That sounds reasonable. That cam sensor takes about mmmmm 5 seconds to fix. And the oil sensor should take about 10 min to fix. Hope it stops your leaks.

no no no. haha i would have loved for that to have been where the leak was coming from, but what i was saying was, they fixed that and it still hasnt stopped. there was about a 3 inch circle of oil in my driveway this morning. where else could it be coming from, its def. coming fromt he back of the engine.

Sounds like EXACTLY what I had. They said cam angle sensor gasket - replaced it. Didn't work, still big oil leak. Took it to Chrysler, let them rip it down and it was the head gasket - $1700 bucks later I got my gasket and timing belt replaced (in canadian funds emoji )

Yeah un fotunately it does sound suspicious of a head gasket...

One who boasts of his own ability has no merit.
One who parades his own success will not endure.

hmm odd I changed my head gasket and it still leaked go figure. It could also be an oil pan gasket. I have a used oil press sender, cam sensor, and oil pan on the way to cure my leak hope yours gets fixed soon and good luck.
