#3971, "Headers question"

I am going to be getting my headers done sometime in the next week or so.. after rent and carpayment.. Anyway .. I am a little confused as to which to get and haven't been able to find much online.. The difference between 4-1 and 4-2-1.. From what I understand one is more for highend and the other benifits at low? All I have done right now as far as engine goes is a CAI and a Greddy Evo.

4-1 is all top end
4-2-1 will save you some low end while sacrificing top end

So if I go with the 4-1 I am going to lose low end then? Now from what I understand when I put on the Evo I lost some low end.. So putting on a 4-1 would drop that even more right? Right now most of the "racing" is taking place on the freeways inbetween destinations.. but I do plan on hitting the tracks soon after the UDP install.. So is there any other way to make up the low end I am going to be dropping with out taking away from highend or is there always going to be a sacrafice?

you dont even need to worry about your low end except for daily driving. if you are in a race situation at WOT the only time youre even gonna run in the low end is in first gear, maybe not even then. if you dump it at 4000, youll see a little of it but youll move up to the top, when you shift to second, provided you dont miss the shift, youll still be up in the top end when second engages. the same goes for third and fourth.

I have the Greddy Evolution cat with the Greddy header and I don't feel any lack of power in the low end, high end, middle end...As soon as I test drove it I felt the difference in power. I burned the hell out of my friend's 2000 Si w/DC headers. Since then I've had a pretty big head.Anyways the Greddy headers look tight too. My problem is I think I should have saved my money and saved up for a turbo install. But for now I'm happy. I recommend them. Lates
