I was out driving today and the clutch was normal, then i rode it a little hard, but not THAT hard, then ever since that when i go to press in the clutch it has gotten flimsy and more flimsy til the point where i have to put it in gear while i was rolling. I had to drive home w/ no clutch tonight and it was not cool. When i got home i looked under my car and it looked like there was some sort of fluid along the bottom side of my car, under the engine. Can anyone tell me what happened, my clutch is now non-resisting (you can push it in w/ almost no resistence). Someone please diagnose my problem. I hope it isnt too expensive. BTW, im a newbie when it comes to clutch related problems. Thanks for the help guys!!

Most likely you have leak on your clutch master cylinder or the hard line that connect to your slave cylinder. Master cylinder leak check by your footwell.

Would i be able to fix this somehow or am i going to have to take it to get fixed. I looked in the footwell and felt the rubber gasket on the cylinder and it had some fluid on it. There was also some on the bottomside of the car. Could someone help me w/ some steps on what to check or how to fix (if possible) thanks for the input!!

I am in the process right now of installing a new piston in the master cylinder. It cost like $6 for the repair kit.
1) take out the pin out that holds the bolt which connects the clutch pedal to the piston 2) While your still there take out the one nut 12mm, that holds the cylinder 3)Take off (2) 12mm bolts that hold the resivior and drain it. 4)Take off the rubber hose 5)Take off the other nut ,12mm that holds the cylinder in place. 6)With a cresent wrench unscrew the hardline from the cylinder 7)Once out - disassmble by taking a set of pliers and removing the E-clip looking thing located on the end of the cylinder. Clean out with brake cleaner and when you reassemble make sure to BLEED em.

Ok i figured out where its leaking from. This is a rough description but hopefully someone will know what im talking about. Ok going from where you put the fluid in for the clutch you follow that down and then it turns into a metal hose, then the metal hose connects just below the transmition. At that connection i have a leak, and i was wondering if i just tighten something down or what. I tried tightening that connection down, but when i went to go put fluid in and pumped the clutch, it shot out of that connection. All help would be appreciated, am in dire need of help. Thanks !

That's the hard line that connects to the slave cylinder. It happen to me twice on that area. my fixed was i bought a goodridge SS braided lines and never had any problem since.....

Ok i put a new hard line in (because checker didnt have any braided clutch hoses) and bled the clutch 3 times. Only problem is it engages low almost to the floor. Is there anyways to get it to engage somewhere in the middle? Thanks

Thanks > >Greg >'96 Esi Get a brake bleeder kit from a parts store and connect it to ur bleeder screw on ur slave cylinder, open the screw, full ur reservoir with fluid step on it 2 to 3 times, til bleeder bottle is full or over flowing, look in the bottle you will see bubbles thats what causing ur clutch to be low. Refill reservoir and continue pumping clutch to the floor, bleeder tool container will overflow thats ok, but dont let ur cylinder reservoir go empty, and do until satisfied, retighten bleed screw refill reservoir and clutch should be fine.
