rtfm

um geta clymer manual and a fsm(factory service manual)

drop lower cross remember unbolt all engine mounts and parts tilt motor so the tranny is on the lower half and pull straight up

You can have it cheap, fast or good. Pick any two.

If you want it cheap and fast, it's not going to be good.
If you want it cheap and good, it's not going to be fast.
If you want it good and fast, it's not going to be cheap.

tryin to do this as cheaply as possible. buying manuals isn't much of an option. thanks for the info seems pretty simple though.

You better drop that cross member if you want to get the down pipe off. Of you can cut the down pipe if you are going turbo, that is what I did.

Just buy a manual. The Chiltons is 14 dollars. If you don't have a manual of some kind, putting the car back together is going to be difficult. You need torque specs.

why would you have to move the crossmember to get the exhaust off? are you just saying that IF you have to cut it off (assuming the bolts are rusted on) then you have to remove the cross member? just curious
