The hardest part I would say would be when you put the filter on underneath the bumper. Mine took me about 30 minutes to remove the factory air box & put in the intake.

First disconnect the battery and take it out of the engine bay. Then you'll have all the room you will NEED to put the AEM in. It's a pretty self explanatory install if you ever done any engine work.

You shouldn't have to remove the battery to put a reducer and the upper part of the intake on the throttle body. My Iceman slid right in. Why make more work than what you'd need to?

I have an Iceman and think it's a great intake. I got it for $140 shipped, which is the main reason I got it over the AEM (which is about $240 shipped). The main question you should ask yourself is if you are really concerned about looks.
The Iceman isn't aesthetically pleasing like the AEM, but the AEM costs quite a bit more and the paint gets scratched by the battery unless you put something in place to keep it from rubbing.
Also, the install for the Iceman took about 20 minutes max. The most trouble was getting the stock airbox out.

Are you kinding? When I tried to get the AEM pipe on the throttle body the AEM kept scraping up against the battery tie-down. Even now the pipe is still touching the battery a bit. The only reason I recommend taking it out is so you don't scrape the shit out of the pipe, maybe it was just mine, although I can't see how there could be any difference from one to the next.
Also, I've installed an AEM CAI on a '99 Honduh Civic DX (B16D), 95 Honduh Civic EX, and a 99/00 Honduh Civic Si, and the battery didn't have to come out on any of those. All different engine layouts by the way.

Mine is a two piece and I had to cut the corner of the battery box for it to fit. I think AEM made the lenght of the pipe that hooks to the throttle body to long. After the bend in the upper pipe where the throttle body is it should be about 1/4" shorter then it would fit better. My pipe also rubs on the battery tie down too.

My AEM CAI is 1 long pipe, my friends is 2 pipes, and then he had to cut it again to put the bypass valve on, that sucks. He got his a long time ago, I just got mine like 2 months ago.

ok i have to say one thing about the difference between iceman and aem. the aem is obviously more but it is also aluminum while the iceman is a plastic pipe and the aem has a k&n filter and im pretty sure iceman doesnt. (k&n cone filters are about $60) thats what made me choose aem. the install was very easy except for the filter which some one already brought up...you have to get under the car.
aem cai pacesetter headers gs-t exhaust red altezzas rims, tires, and a bunch of other little stuff....that list is way too short....more will come!

The AEM does have a K&N cone filter but the technology is not hard to duplicate. I went with the Iceman just because it conducts hardly any heat. Both are excellent CAI's though.

the aem is not a hunk of steel its aluminum which doesnt conduct much heat and its coated with heat resistant paint. yes they are both good but the only reason i brought that up is that i think the aem is higher quality which is why it is more expensive. and btw i got mine for 200 shipped. not a whole lot more than an iceman....yeah the guy with pacesetter headers is bitchin about quality....hahaha
